A migraine is usually a moderate or severe headache felt as a throbbing pain on one side of the head. Many people also have symptoms such as feeling sick, being sick and increased sensitivity to light or sound. Migraine is a common health condition, affecting around 1 in every 5 women and around 1 in every 15 men.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), migraine is the third most common disease in the world.

There are many ways to cure migraines, but these are some simple, natural remedies you can use right at home.

Raw onion and potato:

These are two ancient and effective natural migraine remedies. Peel and cut them into slices. Then, put them on your forehead as soon as you notice the first symptoms.

Ginger:

The pain from migraine is often accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Grate a piece of ginger and steep it in hot water for a few minutes before drinking the mixture.

The balm, made from mint:

The active principles of mint act effectively on the nerves. Apply it on the forehead, the nape of the neck, the temples, and the lobes of the ears by performing a circular massage. You can also use mint essential oil mixed with sweet almond or tiger balm oil.

Another natural remedy for migraine:

Take a foot bath with warm water. This trick relieves pain and facilitates blood circulation in the head. The addition of mustard powder is recommended to alleviate the headache. You can also put a warm compress on your forehead or neck to reduce muscle tension.

Vinegar:

To prepare this natural migraine remedy, soak a cloth in pure vinegar. Then apply it to the temples and forehead. Use a headband to hold it up. This technique relieves pain in minutes.

Coffee:

Drinking coffee is also a natural remedy for migraine. Strong coffee constricts dilated cerebral vessels. This technique works well provided you are not a heavy drinker. Combined with paracetamol, the effectiveness of caffeine increases.

But above all, always let your doctor know the natural remedies you plan to try in order to have his opinion on them.
